Testing the software in schools and universities has been Googles main objective because they would like it to be easier for the common smartphone user. “It has to be easy, you can’t just have the software out there and no one be able to use it.” Said Blaine Sword. “The goal is to enable people to become creators, not just consumers, in this mobile world. We could only have done this because Android’s architecture is so open. These aren’t the slickest applications in the world. But they are ones ordinary people can make, often in a matter of minutes.” said Harold Abelson, how led the project and is a Computer scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
All you will need to get started with the software is a Gmail account and a computer. If you have an Android smartphone that would probably help to as you will want to test it out and see how it works on the phone.
