Does Facebook Places allow too much information on your location
With Facebook Places, you will be able to use this on your mobile phone in the facebook app. This is a Mobile Location Sharing Program giving a Google map of your current location when your friends visit your wall. Not only that but you it will let you discover new places around you such as restaurants, and much more. Facebook has made some changes to its privacy practices to protect sensitive location based info. You can edit the visibility of check-ins that you make to just certant friends, but the problem is you will have to go set this up on your own. If you forget to do so, everyone on your friends list will see where you are and what you might be doing so be sure to get these settings set right a way to protect yourself.
This just sounds scary right? But, the only way Facebook Places updates your location is when you make an update on your mobile phone or device. “I’m eating at Joe’s Dinner with Cindy… LOL eating eggs and toast.” This is when all of your friends that you have, maybe 248 people that you might only know 60 personally, will see your update and know the address of where you are.
Be careful out there on this big mobile internet and you will be fine. Just make sure that when using Facebook, Foursquare or any of these other location sharing programs that you know who might be seeing your post. There are alot of people in the world that use this information to know when you are not home.
